Pediatric occupational therapy

Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need to participate in everyday life—at home, at school, and in the community. Woven Care’s pediatric OT program supports children with sensory processing, fine motor development, self-regulation, daily living skills, and more, using play-based techniques tailored to each child.

With over 15 years of experience, Woven Care provides the highest quality pediatric therapy across Colorado from our clinics in Aurora, Colorado Springs, Fountain, Monument, and Pueblo.

We've been with Woven Care for the past five years. Since moving down to Fountain, this is our new location. Therapists are highly skilled and trained for even the toughest situations. Friendly staff, and they offer a wide array of services. They prioritize fun and are consistent. Which is so important for a mother of two children on the spectrum. Thank you Woven Care!

Fountain

If there were 6 stars I would give that. Everyone that works here is so kind and friendly. They are always 100% professional and work so extremely hard. They really care about the children and do amazing work every day.

Monument

What occupational therapy can help with

Occupational therapy (OT) supports children in building skills needed for independence, confidence, and participation in everyday life. Woven Care's occupational therapists in Pueblo work with children on:

  • Sensory processing differences, including sensitivities to touch, sound, movement, or textures
  • Fine motor development for skills like handwriting, using utensils, or managing clothing fasteners
  • Self-regulation needs, including navigating emotions and developing coping tools
  • Focus, attention, or following multi-step directions (executive function)
  • Daily living skills like dressing, feeding, or personal hygiene
  • Coordination, balance, or body awareness
  • Visual perceptual and visual motor skills
  • Social and play skills
  • Feeding and diet expansion

Pediatric OT at Woven Care in Pueblo is available for children with a wide range of diagnoses and developmental needs, including autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and sensory processing differences. OT is not limited to children with a specific diagnosis, it is available to any child who needs support in building everyday skills.

Woven Care's approach to occupational therapy

Play-based and child-led

Woven Care's occupational therapists use play as a primary tool for learning, following each child's lead to keep sessions engaging and meaningful. By embedding therapeutic goals into games and everyday activities, children build skills in a way that feels natural, enjoyable, and motivating.

Sensory-informed care

Sensory processing plays a key role in how children learn, regulate, and engage in daily life. Woven Care's OT team specializes in evaluating sensory processing differences, helping children better understand their bodies and respond to the world around them. We provide individualized strategies and practical tools to support regulation, reduce overwhelm, and help children participate more confidently at home, at school, and in the community.

Personalized to every child

Every program begins with a thorough evaluation that includes a caregiver interview and assessment of motor, sensory, and functional skills. From there, the therapist develops an individualized treatment plan around each child's strengths, needs, and family goals. Progress is tracked closely, with ongoing adjustments made as the child grows or goals change.

Family and caregiver involvement

Families and caregivers are active partners throughout the OT process. Woven Care's therapists explain what they are working on and why, share progress clearly, and provide practical strategies that families can use at home to support carryover between sessions.

Coordinated with the full care team

When a child is also receiving applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech therapy, or physical therapy, Woven Care's occupational therapists coordinate directly with those teams. One care plan, one team, and one location — so skills are reinforced across every therapy and nothing falls through the cracks.
